DIVERGENT SERIES Review! :D

"Be Brave"

(Spoilers ahead! Proceed with caution)
Veronica Roth's Divergent Trilogy
Finally! After a week of reading, I've finished all three. (Plus the other companion books. Read my review about them HERE!Yay! :)

Anyway, as I said before, I've been hearing a lot of this fandom ever since the first book Divergent came out. Mixed responses both positive and negative but then, when the last one, Allegiant, came out, I decided to see for myself. And I had! Glad I did :)

Enough with this and let's get moving! :D

*It would probably be lengthy too since I got too much to say so please bear with me. Thanks! :)

DIVERGENT COMPANION BOOKS Review :)

"All it takes is one choice"

(Minor to no spoiler reviews)
The five factions in the world of Divergent
(Source: leadingthought.us.com)

I've been hearing about this fandom for quite some time now and finally, I have found the time to get started on it. It was already part of my reading list waaaaay before the first movie came out so don't think I just wanted to read the series to get on the bandwagon. Besides, I haven't even watched Divergent the movie yet since I told myself I wouldn't see it until I've read it first.

Anyway, this isn't about the MAIN series (I'd make a different post on that once I finish the trilogy. I'm already on Allegiant. Wish my fangirl heart good luck!) I'd be writing about three of the companion books of the series, so let's get started, shall we? :)

Fangirling on FANGIRL: A Review

"I'm rooting for you."

(Spoilers! Proceed with caution)
TITLE: Fangirl
AUTHOR/s: Rainbow Rowell
PUBLICATION DATE: 10th of September, 2013
AVAILABLE AT: Amazon | The Book Depository
After Reading Eleanor & Park (Go read my review!), I've eagerly got a hold of Rowell's other books namely Fangirl and Attachments. Seeing the former as something that is more interesting, I plunged in head on to the world of Fangirl.

Being a self proclaimed Fangirl, the title was really catchy. Also, based on some reviews I've read, it showed how the fandom functions, describes attributes of fangirls/fanboys etc. But aside from that, it's also a coming-of-age story.

Enough of these yada yada's and on with the review! :)

Pressing Play: A TH1RTEEN R3ASONS WHY Review

"In the end...everything matters."

(Minimal Spoilers ahead!)
TITLE: Th1rteen R3asons Why
AUTHOR/s: Jay Asher
PUBLICATION DATE: 18th of October, 2007
AVAILABLE AT: Amazon | The Book Depository
I've already read 13RW before but not the whole book. Via shmoop, I've read each chapter but only their summaries. Make sense? Anyway, fast forward to a few months later, I got a copy of it and since I've been wanting to read it for REAL, like the whole of it, I gave it a shot and it was definitely a good decision so I'm making a review. Hoorah! :)

THE CUCKOO'S CALLING: A "Strike"-ing review

"I am become a name"

(Minor to no spoilers ahead! go read!)
TITLE: The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike#1)
AUTHOR/s: Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)
PUBLICATION DATE: 1st of January, 2013
AVAILABLE AT: Amazon | The Book Depository
Growing up, I've had my share of detective stories. From twin sisters' super sleuthing on several occasions (Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield from Sweet Valley Series) to my own personal childhood idol (which started my fondness for this genre.), Nancy Drew. Not to mention some of my favorite guy detectives, the Hardy Boys. And eventually, later on in my life, the ever-famous, Sherlock Holmes.

And now, years later after reading my last detective novel (as I have been quite busy with other genres like YA, dystopia, etc.), my interest was once again piqued by another brain-twisting "crime fiction": The Cuckoo's Calling. Being a self-proclaimed Potterhead, I'll admit that it was also a plus when I learned that it was written by Rowling though I can say that even if it was authored by a completely different person; a real Robert Galbraith, perhaps, I'd still want to read it anyway. And I did. After 400+ pages, I finished it within a week's worth of reading.
