ELEANOR & PARK: A quick review

"She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something."

-Park

(Minimal to no spoilers at all so go read!)
TITLE: Eleanor & Park
AUTHOR/s: Rainbow Rowell
PUBLICATION DATE: 12th of April, 2012
AVAILABLE AT: Amazon | The Book Depository
The introductory quote above was something I stumbled upon months ago and it instantly become a fave(orite). Fast forward to some time later, after reading Eleanor & Park, I discovered that it actually came from the book.

Hearing tons about it from all over the internet (and not to mention lots of recommendations from my friends), I was a bit skeptical about reading it. Sure, I was curious about it since it has made quite the splash in the bookworms' lairs but when I searched about it, I wasn't really that enticed to read it (and I thought it was too mainstream to read at that time)

Anyway, just a few days ago, I did actually give it a shot and wow, I'm definitely glad I did! And now, after completely digesting (but still not getting over) all my feels, I'll be doing a quick review! Yay :)

A Year-Ender Tribute to 1CA4! :)

"Each ending comes with new beginnings"

I can't believe the school year is already over! After months of thick hand-outs, endless reports, mind draining quizzes, sleepless nights and tons of paperwork, we are already saying hello to SUMMER VACATION and soon enough, greeting our second year in college! Hooray! :)

COLLEGE is NEVER EASY. It takes hard-work, patience, determination, and many other values that one must have in order for him/her to keep on going. The freshman year is definitely one of the hardest part of university life. That period of time when everything looks new and you get to taste a higher dose of freedom as well as a heavier weight of responsibilities on your shoulder; that starting point when life seems to be starting to make sense; that momentous moment when you know, that finally, it's time to pave the way towards your future.

POETRY Series :)

"I would never like poetry."

But then again, as I entered college, I guess I ate my words. My world broadened after High School. I developed old hobbies and found new interests. One of these new passions is poetry. Like my young mind before, most people have a hard time appreciating this type of literature. Some, because of the difficulty of unveiling the layers underneath layers of possible meanings. Some, because of the flowery vocabulary being used. And some, because of the many metaphorical illusions presented in every piece. They say it involves too much "reading between the lines" since the careful picking of words reveals an underlying connotation; the structure and syllables used has an impact to the overall meaning; and each sound, when the poem is read, can give off another understanding of the piece.

But these sentiments are what makes a poetry a "Poetry". It is complex and easily misunderstood yet lovely and expressive at the same time. A single line can paint a large picture. A single stanza can depict the deepest intentions. A single piece reveal the heart and soul of a poet. That is why, I am glad that I discovered the true beauty of poetry and that I am a step closer to unearthing my inner poet.

Here are some works of mine. They're all interconnected, creating a poetry series lol. Made these for a school activity :D Feel free to analyze as I am welcome to constructive criticism :)

Wings on Wings: FALLEN SERIES Review!

"I would do it all again. I would choose you every time."

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS!

The Fallen Series by Lauren Kate

With all the negative reviews I've read about the series (I even saw a handful of reviews comparing the series to the Twilight Saga) , I was first doubtful whether to check it out but after a friend recommended the first book, Fallen, I decided to give it a shot. And finally, after a considerable amount of time, I've finished the whole series including its companion book, Fallen in Love.
