First I must apologize for the late (appreciation) post. I wanted to bundle it up with a review and I haven't got a chance until last night.
Anyway, as always, I had once again felt really excited upon receiving something through mail. This time, it came from Miss Chrissie Peria! It was a prize from her 8th blogoversary giveaway which luckily, I won. Hooray!

Thank you for these lovely things Miss Chrissie! <3
I got some cutie bento-prep stuff (which I'm planning to put into use very soon!), a box of heavenly cookies (Bacon and chocolate, what more could I ask for?!) which came with BUBBLE WRAP!!! aaaand the best thing of all (I REALLY wanted this!) was a SIGNED PAPERBACK OF ALL'S FAIR IN BLOG AND WAR with matching bookmark and postcard. Wheee! Thank you very much :D

So now, here are my thoughts on Chrissie Peria's All's Fair in Blog and War! :)

Travel blogger Five Cuevas has gotten her chance of a lifetime. An all-expense paid trip to Macau in exchange for what? Doing something she loves: blogging!

Along with three other bloggers, Five looked forward in the tour until she was assigned to be travel buddies with Mr. Arrogant Elevator Guy, photo blogger Jesse Ruiz.

Will the Macau trip be as sweet as its egg tarts or will it come crumbling down like The Ruins of St. Paul?

After reading the blurb, I thought I would like this one. Guess I was wrong. I didn't like it. I LOVED IT! Travelling and blogging in a book? Now that's hitting, not two but three birds in one stone! As a leisure blogger, travel junkie, and book lover, All's Fair in Blog and War is just perf :D It's as perf as the cover!

The characters were an odd bunch with their own quirks especially the bloggers. There's Simon, the quiet geek; Meghan (AKA Megh), the hot girl with a model-esque fugure; Jesse, the seemingly infuriating photo blogger with a sweet side; and our protagonist Ma. Mercedes (Sorry, I just have to! lol) or simply Five, who is just plain awesome.

Everything was just really beautiful. That's the best word I can think of to describe the book. From its very visual representation of the setting to its lovable characters and nicely executed plot (plus points for the touch of humor! The "bathroom scene" was the best!)

Okay, I'm reserving this space for my fangirling because JESSE RUIZ, people! He actually made the 2nd spot for my favorite summer read guy (First is Frank Porter of Since You've Been Gone) I couldn't fully elaborate without spoiling you guys but I just need to say that the "big, grand, swoon-worthy, aww-mazing" twitter thing gesture was really really REALLY epic and well, again, beautiful :">

"Sure, it's not a contest, but that doesn't mean I can't be competitive, right?" -Five

"But apparently, I didn't know myself as well as I always thought I did." -Five

"You think that if you ignore the problem, it'll go away (...) I've got news for you, Five. It's not going to go away." -Libby

"Whenever you feel bad about something, people always try to tell you that they understand. But they rarely do." -Five

"Just because I thought I was dealing well, didn't really mean that I was healing. It was like duct taping something broken instead of actually fixing it." -Five

"Too bad blissful happy endings only happened in books and movies." -Five

I cannot stress how much I loved this book any further. It was really brilliant. The emotions are well played that you can't help but feel for the characters. Especially Five. (There was this particular scene which reminded me of Jenny Han's To All the Boys I've Loved Before. If you've read it, you'll know what I'm talking about ;) )

Also, I LOVE the fact that the story became quite interactive since Five and Jesse are in twitter and instagram! I seriously fangirled when they *coughJessecough* replied on my tweets (come on! Allow me to get lost in my make-believes!)

With all that said, I think you already know what my verdict will be. Ma. Mercedes..err I mean FIVE, out of five rating for Chrissie Peria's All's Fair in Blog and War! :)

5/5 rating :)
